Meet the Past and Shape the Future
Are you a stay-at-home mom who wants to update her resume? Maybe you're
a high school student looking for work experience before you apply for your
first job?
Seniors, teens, families, corporate and civic groups all have a place at the
Heritage Farm Museum.  You must be 14 years or older, have an interest in
serving your community and a desire to learn. We provide a job description,
training and a schedule.
OUTREACH AMBASSADOR
Attend local fairs, festivals, school and scout events to promote the museum.
Spread the word in the community about this unique local museum. Duties
include set-up and manning of information table and distribution of museum
materials. Great way to learn about our community and have fun in the
process.
GALLERY TECHNICIAN
Want to see behind the scenes? Work with museum staff on gallery planning
and maintenance. Assist with daily operations in the exhibit hall. Participate
in program and special event preparation, as well as facility monitoring.
CUSTOMER SERVICE ASSISTANT
The customer service assistant creates the first impression for museum
visitors. Assist with front desk operations and guest services by greeting and
orienting visitors, answering phones and light administrative work. Learn
about the Museum and Claude Moore Park and share your knowledge with
our guests. Regular shifts available.
SPECIAL EVENTS ASSISTANT
Adults, teens, family and corporate volunteers are needed to assist with set-
up, clean-up, hands-on activities, as well as greeting and orienting visitors.
Orientation and training required.
GARDEN ASSISTANT
Help plant and maintain the Museum's landscape and gardens. Interest in
historic plants, native Virginia plants, grasses, and fruit trees. Experience
with tools and plants helpful.   (Seasonal: March through October)
SENIOR RSVP
Seniors! Join RSVP, The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, one of the
largest volunteer efforts in the nation, provides an opportunity for individuals
ages 55 and older to utilize their skills, life experience and fulfill the desire to
