Furniture

The Janney family furniture was mad by the local cabinetmaker. Most of the furniture was mad of cherry wood and polished in beeswax.

Lighting

Betty Lamps (Lamp that used a wick soaked in lard)
Candle holders

Candles were made of tallow and rarely from beeswax. A large iron or brass kettles was filled with water and the tallow added to it. A long stick with 6-12 wicks was tied from it and then each stick was dipped into the kettle. This was repeated until the candles were large enough.
