Tailored to fit college and graduate students, this program gives interns
practical and theoretical training in museum practices, and acquaints them
with the role of small museums in contemporary society. Working under the
supervision of museum staff, interns contribute to timely projects, gain insight
into the functions of individual departments, and learn about the Museum's
various collections, exhibitions, and programs for visitors
The Apprenticeship Program
Specifically designed for high school students. Apprentices complete a
resume-enhancing project and learn the ins-and-outs of the museum’s
collections, exhibitions, and programs for visitors while earning volunteer
hours. By the end of an apprenticeship, students will have a portfolio of their
work to show to colleges and future employers, a comprehensive
understanding of the many job skills it takes to work in a museum, and
completed volunteer hours.
The museum is willing to work with scouts working on their Eagle Scout or
Gold Awards to develop specific projects designed to help meet the needs of
