MUSEUM EDUCATION SPECIALIST
Museum in metropolitan Washington, D.C. seeks museum educator coordinate
expansion of educational programs. Successful candidate will conduct
market research, develop new programs and complete a five-year plan
for implementing and marketing new offerings. Minimum requirements:
BA with major coursework in museum education or related field. Previous
experience in focus groups and SOL-based program development desired.
Must maintain valid drivers license; certification in CPR,
First Aid and criminal background check required prior to employment.
This is a two-year, temporary grant-funded position.
The Heritage Farm Museum is Loudoun Countys museum of agriculture.
We preserve, promote and bring to life Loudouns rich agricultural
heritage and the history of rural life in Northern Virginia. The
Museum is operated by the County of Loudoun and supported by the
501(c)3 advisory board Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum, Inc.

Join the Team at the Heritage Farm Museum!
The Heritage Farm Museum located in Claude Moore Park in Sterling
seeks volunteers to serve as program assistants and instructors
for Standards-of-Learning based school and Scout programs in our
new interactive exhibit hall. These positions are a perfect way
to learn about the history of our area while gaining valuable experience
developing and teaching educational programs. Programs include:
Farmin' Fever, Apples, Apples Everywhere, Weights and Measures and
a variety of Scout badge and achievement projects. Ask us about
internships for college and graduate school students; paid positions
also available for qualified applicants.
The Heritage Farm Museum is dedicated to preserving, promoting,
and bringing to life the history of agriculture and rural life in
Loudoun County. The facility includes a permanent exhibit, an indoor
hands-on educational play area for children and the Waxpool General
Store. The museum specializes in classes that meet the Virginia
Standards of Learning and interactive history, cultural and live-animal
programming for all ages.

Internship - August 2007:
The Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum seeks an archival intern for the
fall of 2007. Under the direction of curator, the intern will be responsible
for the reorganization of the museum archives including identifying,
processing, and cataloging documents.
Internship begins summer or fall 2007 and concludes by January
2008.
Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in History, Public History,
Library Science, Museum Studies or related field; preference given
to applicants enrolled in a graduate program.
Own transportation required.
