July 17, 2009 (Sterling, VA) – 250 Loudoun County teens and church leaders
from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints contributed two days of
community service to County organizations on Thursday, July 16th and Friday
July 17th. On Thursday alone, volunteers provided over 800 hours of time with
an estimated value of over $16,000 to area organizations. Projects included
clearing trails at Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve, cleaning and repairing
facilities for not-for-profit organizations and painting the Heritage Farm Museum
in Claude Moore Park. Project participants were enrolled in a youth conference
focusing on community service entitled, “Live, Love, Serve”.
